Do you already know the skincare basics?

Getting the fundamentals right makes all the difference. When you understand the simple steps behind cleansing, hydrating and protecting, building your routine becomes effortless—and every product you use works even better.

Skincare Steps

The basic steps of skincare are makeup removal, cleansing, targeted treatments, hydration (both water-based and oil-based) and sun protection.

Building your skincare routine

Creating your own skincare routine can feel challenging, as it depends on how many steps you want, your skin type, your concerns and your personal preferences.

A good place to start is by choosing a cleanser and a moisturizer that suit your skin, then considering if you need anything extra.

Cleansing the skin

Cleansing can be done with either one or two products. In a double cleanse, the skin is first washed with an oil-based product (such as a cleansing balm or oil) and then followed by a water-based product (such as a gel, cream or milk cleanser).

Moisturizing the skin

The skin needs both hydration (water) and moisture (oil). All skin types benefit from hydration, but some may be especially dehydrated and require more water-based care.

Exfoliating the skin

The skin naturally sheds dead cells, but sometimes it needs a little help. Dead skin buildup can make the complexion look dull and clog pores, which may lead to breakouts and blackheads.
